  BREAKING: Ekiti Assembly Speaker, Aribisogan Impeached Ekiti State Assembly Speaker, Gboyega Aribisogan, has been impeached and suspended indefinitely by members of the Assembly. Olubunmi Adelugba has now been elected as the new speaker. Seventeen out of the 25 members impeached the Speaker and elected a new one.  were embroiled in a controversy following the death of the former speaker, Funminiyi Afuye. A month after his demise, the parliament held an election and Aribisogan, who is the representative of Ikole 1 Constituency in the Assembly and a two-term lawmaker, emerged. 66-year-old Afuye died at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital on October 19 after suffering cardiac arrest. OYETOLA HAS DENIED THE RUMOUR OF HIS PLAN TO DETHRONE THE ATAOJA OF OSOGBO.

The Osogbo Action Committee has been advised not to incite the people against the Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola. The group was also advised to put an end to the falsehood being spread around that the Oyetola administration intends to dethrone the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun Oyetunji. The Chief Press Secretary to Governor Oyetola, Ismail Omipidan in a statement, stated that the letter to the governor asking him to stay action on a non-existent process is not only mischievous but also a wicked one. Omipidan also alleged that the letter was deliberately designed to pitch the people against the governor and his government by agents of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who had allegedly masqueraded as community leaders.
